Moving Relocation Services Between the United States and Canada long distance & state to state moving companies
"Moving companies State To State" Deciding on a moving company, especially a long distance moving company is always tricky. The only way to find a good one is to do research. If you are lucky, you will find somebody who has used one before and can tell you first hand what the experience is like. The other source is to check with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and see if they list the company you are looking at. There are basically 2 different types of moving companies. The first type and the most common are local movers. They specialize in short distance moving. The second type is long distance movers. This type is the one to get if you are planning on moving out of state, or even out of country.
Generally there will be a lot more local moving companies compared to long distance movers. This is because the infrastructure required to operate a long distance company is more expensive and complex. But no matter what type of moving the customer is planning on doing, there are some important steps that need to be taken, in order for matters to go smoothly. If the customer is planning on moving interstate, or to another country, planning and preparation is very important. Never get a local moving company to do long distance moving.

So now you have made the decision to go with a company, what next? The first thing to do is to get a quote. Never get a quote over the phone. A representative of the company should make a visit to the house and asses the situation. They should go over every object that needs to be moved, before a contract is written up. However the first time they are called over the phone it is good time for the customer to ask a few basic questions. These should include how long they have been in the business, whether they are a member of American Moving and Storage Association and so on.

The final part is the estimate. It is important to show the moving company every object that needs to be moved. This way any misunderstandings can be cleared from the beginning. Before signing the contract make sure you read everything and understand what exactly is being covered. If there are any questions, better to clear it up before signing. If moving out of country, make sure all the proper documents are in place. You don’t want to be stopped at the border, just because you forgot to sign something. Last but not least check on insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in moving insurance.
